At Chatterbox we understand that there are a myriad of financial pressures on families these days, so we have done our best to keep our fee structures at a reasonable and competitive rate, meaning that you can still get the best speech therapy at affordable prices. You may also be eligible to receive a portion of these fees back, so please scroll down to see the health rebates and financial assistance section at the bottom of this page.

Initial Speech Pathology Assessments

Private Health Insurance

Clients with ancillary private health insurance can claim a portion of their fee back. To find out how much you are entitled to receive, please contact your insurance provider. The item codes are listed in the fees and charges table above. Please note that fees need to be paid in full on the day of your service. You will then receive a receipt via email to allow you to claim from your health fund.

Medicare

Some children are also eligible for annual Medicare rebates. You can receive up to five sessions through Medicare if you are eligible (please contact your GP to discuss eligibility). Please note that there will be out of pocket expenses for services provided by Chatterbox.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme provides funding for people with disabilities to help cover the costs of speech therapy.

Cancellation Policy

Please be mindful that your appointment slot is assigned to you and may not be filled by other clients due to short notice. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask that you inform us at least 24 hours before your appointment. If you miss a session without cancelling, or cancel on the day of your appointment, you will be required to pay for the session in full (unless both parties agree that you were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control).

It is important to note that insurance companies do not provide reimbursements for cancelled sessions. In addition, you are responsible for coming to your session
ontime. If you are late, your appointment will still need to end at the scheduled time.
